Supportive Housing: The Critical Next Step
Social Model supportive housing is the crucial step after a person has exited a Justice Involved Facility, completed Clinical Treatment Facility (like Substance Use Disorder “SUD” Inpatient services) and attending or plans to attend Mental Health or SUD Outpatient services to continue their recovery. It’s where they take the tools they learned in therapy or supportive services and apply them to real-life challenges—like finding a job, pursuing trades, balancing treatment and managing stress—all while being supported by their in home peer support.
